Hi John,

It's important for me to keep you updated on the work we're doing -- so I wanted to let you know what's been keeping Team Scanlon busy these days in Congress and in PA-05!

+ We passed the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act -- including two amendments that I wrote to increase access to legal aid among domestic abuse survivors.
+ We passed adjustments to the Victims of Crime Act, ensuring victims of crime will get their needed federal compensation.
+ We passed the DREAM Act, which, if it passes the Senate, will provide a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who came to this country as children.


In addition to our progress in Washington, I have some updates from closer to home:

+ Last weekend, Team Scanlon participated in a stream cleanup through CRC Watersheds, helping to ensure our district stays beautiful.
+ And finally, we hosted a special guest in PA-05: President Joe Biden!
