Working both independently and with team members and colleagues from across the Council, and in partnership with other local organisations, you will be working to prepare the City Council to respond to a variety of emergencies. ???
We are currently looking for a dynamic Emergency Planning Officer to join our supportive, experienced team. Daily activities will include researching and analysing a wide range of topics; writing reports and making recommendations based on this research; writing, training on and exercising internal and multi-agency emergency plans; and participating in, leading and developing the work of internal and multi-agency planning meetings. ?????
In the event of a major incident or emergency you would play a key role in the Council?s Emergency Planning response; attending the scene, making assessments, running the Council?s control room and advising senior officers and key external agencies. ????

* A sound understanding of the duties for Local Authorities contained in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004
* Experience in researching, analysing, writing and presenting complex reports
