Future of Nursing Reports: Passing the Baton
Donna E. Shalala, PhD, led the study committee that produced the first National Academy of Medicine study on the future of nursing in 2010. Mary K. AARP Foundation President Lauds Nurses&rsquo; Essential Roles
AARP Foundation&rsquo;s mission is to create a world in which no older adult feels vulnerable. That&rsquo;s one reason, says its president, that it started the Center to Champion Nursing in America in 2007, along with AARP and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. In a recent talk, Lisa Marsh Ryerson also talked of how nurses are essential links in communities.

UPenn Team to Study Exercise and Older Latinos
Penn Nursing scientist and Campaign adviser Adriana Perez, PhD, CRNP, FAAN, has earned a grant from the National Institute on Aging to study the exercise-related reasons older Latinos experience a disproportionate burden of cognitive disease. &ldquo;Tiempo Juntos para la Salud&rdquo; (Time Together for Health) will test a multilevel intervention.
