were.

88% of our survey takers listed “Addressing Climate Change” as one of the
top issues they want me to fight for. I know we need to safeguard our
environment for the new century – which is why I am proud to be an
original co-sponsor of a Green New Deal.

Let me be clear: The U.S. will pay for climate change whether or not a
Green New Deal is in place.

The question is: Will we invest in this bold plan to boost the economy, or
will we pay for the damage from intense hurricanes, floods, droughts,
wildfires, sea level rising, and ecological devastation?
