A few months ago, our team sent out a survey to learn what your priorities were.
88% of our survey takers listed “Addressing Climate Change” as one of the top issues they want me to fight for. I know we need to safeguard our environment for the new century – which is why I am proud to be an original co-sponsor of a Green New Deal.
Let me be clear: The U.S. will pay for climate change whether or not a Green New Deal is in place.
The question is: Will we invest in this bold plan to boost the economy, or will we pay for the damage from intense hurricanes, floods, droughts, wildfires, sea level rising, and ecological devastation?
There’s no other way about it – we must pass a Green New Deal and we must pass it soon. Please chip in what you can today to support my fight to make a Green New Deal a reality.
The truth is that 81% of Americans – on both sides of the aisle – support a Green New Deal.
That’s because it’s about making sure that every American has climate-resilient communities, a sustainable environment, clean air and water, access to nature, and nutritious food.
And by addressing both climate change and income inequality, a Green New Deal is filling in the gaps to support working families across the country.
In solidarity,
