docked grades, suspension, expulsion, and even physical attacks from campus
leftists.

By the time they graduate, many conservative students are cowed into silence.
Even worse, many of these young people fall victim to the relentless liberal
propaganda shoved down their throats.

When campus leftists violate students’ rights, the Leadership Institute-led
“Normandy Coalition” fights back.

A partnership of 30 conservative organizations, the Normandy Coalition
provides conservative students access to pro-bono legal advocacy organizations.
These groups take legal action to hold universities accountable for violating
students’ constitutional rights.

Normandy Coalition members also provide outstanding speakers for college
campuses, and help students sharpen their understanding of conservative
principles.

Let me share with you a victory that your support made possible.

At Jones College in rural Mississippi, conservative student Michael Brown
hosted a free speech event -- until campus administrators and police showed up
to shut it down.

The leftist administrators told him he had not filled out the proper forms,
observed the three-day waiting period, and then received permission to exercise
his free speech on campus.

The campus police chief even told Michael he should have been “smarter” than
to exercise his free speech rights without permission.

How outrageous!

Thanks to your support of the Leadership Institute, Michael received legal
assistance from a Normandy Coalition ally. That organization helped Michael sue
Jones College to challenge this restrictive free-speech policy.

Michael’s case took a year -- but in the end, Jones College backed down. The
school agreed to implement a policy allowing students to exercise their free
speech rights anywhere on campus without permission. They also paid $40,000 in
attorney fees to the Normandy Coalition group that helped Michael.

What an encouraging win! Your support makes a tremendous difference for
students like Michael -- and for free speech.
