I served in the Army in Iraq. My father was a champion military marksman.
I am no stranger to firearms and I will always defend the Constitution,
including the Second Amendment — but we need reasonable restrictions on
gun ownership in order to keep our communities safe.

That’s why I am proud to report that this week, we introduced a new bill
in Congress which would mandate universal background checks for firearm
purchases.

This is our chance to make serious progress on gun violence. But this bill
will only pass if all of us speak out loudly in support — so I am asking:

[ [link removed] ]Will you add your name to say you support universal background checks
for firearm purchases and want to see Congress pass this legislation? I
need you to make your voice heard.

The bottom line is background checks save lives. That’s why 90% of
Americans support them and want to see Congress pass this legislation.

People are sick and tired of waking up to news about another mass
shooting, reading about gun violence in their communities and even
worrying about sending their kids back to in-person school.

It’s time for Congress to get in line with what the American people want
and finally ensure background checks for all firearm sales. If you agree,
show your support by adding your name at this link:

Thank you for taking action.

All my best,

Tammy
