As the weather begins to warm up and the snow starts to melt, the first signs of Spring are upon us. Here at NJDSC, that means that we are getting ready for a huge election season, with Governor Phil Murphy and the entire state legislature on the ballot in November. This week Governor Murphy delivered the annual State Budget Address, laying out his fiscal priorities for the year. The Governor’s budget proposal reflects the values we have come to expect: more funding for public schools, direct property tax relief for the middle class, support for small businesses, making sure every New Jersey child has health coverage, and perhaps most important of all, making the state’s first full payment into the pension system since 1996.
