John,

I ran for my first office — a seat on the Allentown School Board — after learning that a 16-year-old I met while working at the Boys and Girls Club had dropped out of school. No one had stepped in to ask why or to get her the support she needed to finish high school. I began researching how schools work — and sometimes don't work — and my path to candidacy was forged.

I knew that people like me — people who looked like me and with my experience and resources — had an uphill battle to winning elected offices. But I also knew a voice like mine was needed.

I ran my campaign on a shoestring budget, knocking on doors, and meeting people where they were. I won that election and every election since in similar ways. By representing my community on the issues that impact their ability to thrive. By speaking out against injustices even when it's hard. And by always, always putting people over politics.

Now I’m running for Mayor — and a shoestring budget doesn’t cut it. I’m supported by grassroots donors — not corporations and developers— and I need as many people to chip in as possible.

That’s why I need you, John . Can you make a contribution of any amount to support my campaign? Donate at [[link removed]]

Some of my plans as Mayor include:
- Addressing the city's affordable housing crisis
- Ensuring that development actually benefits the people
- Introducing policies that incentivize jobs for Allentown residents
- Advocating for better opportunities for our youth in and beyond the classroom
- Increasing transparency & accountability between public servants and the people they serve

I shaped my platform after listening to the needs of residents across Allentown — and I will keep listening. Don't ever hesitate to reach out to share your thoughts and ideas, John

With gratitude,
Ce-Ce Gerlach

P.S. If you haven’t heard, my birthday is on Sunday and my team is throwing a virtual party to support my campaign. We’d love to see you there! RSVP here. [[link removed]]
