Dear John,
Bees are dying -- but you can help save them: Start your Membership with Friends of the Earth today and help save bees from
toxic pesticides!

Bayer-Monsanto’s Roundup and neonicotinoid pesticides are driving catastrophic
bee and butterfly declines. Beekeepers reported losing more bees last summer
than ever before. And western monarch butterflies have declined by more than 97%
in the last 20 years. A new report shows that one quarter of all bee species
haven’t been seen in over a decade.
Scientists are warning that we’re on the brink of a “catastrophic collapse of
nature’s ecosystems.” Now, we need you to help stop it.
Help protect bees from Bayer-Monsanto’s poison. Support bees every month by

[[link removed]]Bees are the canary in the coal mine, showing us that the toxic way we grow our
food isn’t working. These essential insects pollinate around 75% of food crops,
including fruits, nuts, and vegetables. Without bees, we would run short of many
of the food crops we rely on.
It has already started. Newly published research shows that crops like apples,
blueberries and cherries are being directly hampered by a lack of bees.
And it’s all for the sake of corporate greed. Big Ag and fossil fuel
corporations are driving bee and monarch decline through pesticide use, climate
change, and habitat loss.
We can avert this mass extinction before it’s too late. Help save bees, our food
system, and our ecosystem: Start your Membership with Friends of the Earth.

[[link removed]]At Friends of the Earth, we know how to beat Big Ag and save the bees. Our 2021
strategy includes a nationwide ban on neonics and other toxic pesticides that
kill bees and butterflies. At the same time, we’re pushing major grocery
companies like Kroger to stop selling food grown with these chemicals. This is
the kind of bold campaigning that can shift us away from pesticide-intensive
agriculture and make pollinator- and people-friendly organic food available for
all.
But we’re up against powerful foes: Companies like Bayer-Monsanto and some of
the richest, most powerful industries in the world. They spend millions of
dollars on efforts to spread misinformation, lobby the government, and stack the
deck to avoid accountability.
This is a watershed moment in the fight to save our pollinators. Together, we
can win comprehensive protections for bees, people, and the planet. But we don’t
have much time, and we need your help to get there. To power this work, we need
200 more people like you to become monthly donors, before March 1.
Help stop Bayer-Monsanto from driving bees to extinction. Start your Membership
with Friends of the Earth with a monthly gift.

[[link removed]]Monthly donors are the backbone of our organization. As a monthly donor, your
support will allow us to plan ahead, thinking strategically over the long term
to maximize our ability to make change. Reliable funding is key to putting our
plans into action -- and you’re a critical part of this movement to protect
endangered pollinators like bees.
Becoming a monthly donor is easy and rewarding. Just sign up on our secure online form
[[link removed]] , and you’ll be automatically charged each month for the donation amount that
is right for you. And you can always update or cancel your monthly donation
amount any time you want.
For our Members, we’ve worked to make sure that giving monthly is a no-hassle,
stress-free way to feel good about your impact. And you’ll help ensure that we
have the resources to keep fighting in 2021 and for the long haul.
You’ll get to watch your gift turn into real results -- like protections for
bees, monarchs, and other pollinators. But to get there, we are calling for 200
more monthly donors by the end of the month. Will you be one of them?
Help save pollinators: Give monthly and stop Bayer-Monsanto from wiping out bees
and butterflies.
