The Unz Review Digest - September 27, 2019

Ranking first by huge margin was my 20,000 word “counter-narrative” of the history of World War II, which set new early traffic records for all of my articles from the last few years and possibly for the website as well, with readership approaching that of the next two pieces combined. This extremely long work summarized, excerpted, and extended many of my previous pieces of the last year or two, strongly arguing that much of what is commonly believed about that huge conflict that shaped our modern world is actually false, and perhaps even inverted. Although the text was quite long when one considers that it directly challenges the hundreds of thousands of individual books written about the Second World War, such length is only to be expected. Within just the first few days, it has already attracted nearly 750 comments, totaling well over 100,000 words.

In almost any other week, either of the second or third ranking pieces, both Paul Kersey columns dealing with racially-motivated attacks upon by blacks upon whites, would easily have placed first. The first discussed the deadly, random attack upon a 59-year-old white man at a public fair in Maryland by two black teens, while the second covered the brutal beating of a white man in Minneapolis by a dozen or so blacks. Certainly if the races in either of these incidents had been reversed, the story would have made the international headlines and be in the news for many weeks, but instead they were totally ignored and covered-up by the major media. The two of them attracted over 400 comments and many thousands of Facebook Likes, though these latter have had been “stolen” by the Facebook censors.

Fourth place was held by Fred Reed’s column suggesting that assimilation of our existing Hispanic immigrants is the only practical solution to America’s ongoing immigration controversy, a thesis that provoked nearly 350 contentious comments, totaling almost 40,000 words.

In fifth place was Paul Tripp’s argument that over the last few decades, the remarkable divergence between our national productivity and the share of the newly-created wealth going to ordinary workers suggests that the latter have taken it for themselves in somewhat underhanded fashion.

Finally, rounding out our most popular featured articles was Linh Dinh’s discussion of the Vietnamese business entrepreneurs who have gone to seek their fortunes in Africa, sometimes at considerable personal risk, which drew nearly 400 comments, totaling almost 50,000 words.
