We Need New Names

We need new names book cover

Our next group read will be *We Need New Names* by "NoViolet Bulawayo", which we will be chatting abouton Wednesday 24 February, 7pm.

The Booker Prize shortlisted book is currently being adapted by local playwright Mufaro Makubika for Fifth Word Theatre, andMufaro is seeking insight into what readers connect with and take away when reading the book. The discussions will feed into Mufaros thinking and writing when he completes his next draft.

*About the book:* A poignant, powerful and unflinching novel, it tells the story of Darling who lives in Zimbabwe but dreams of moving to America. For Darling, that dream will come true. But like thousands of others who forge new lives far from home, her new life brings fresh challenges for her, and those left behind.
