How You Can Help in the Fight Against COVID-19

Donate Now ([link removed] )

Friend – the struggle against COVID-19 and its severe economic impact is still ongoing. In less than a year, the pandemic has caused significant setbacks on the path towards global poverty reduction. Without immediate action, COVID-19 could drive over 100 million people into extreme poverty. Vulnerable communities in the US and around the world – already lacking access to adequate clean water, nutrition, and healthcare – have suffered the worst effects of the crisis.

So far, Oxfam has delivered essential assistance to more than 11 million people in more than 60 countries. Our teams are working with hundreds of local partner organizations to provide emergency food, improve access to hygiene, and distribute direct cash assistance to impacted communities. But we're not done yet. Our goal is to reach 14 million people with urgent pandemic aid, all while continuing our fight against poverty.

We can help meet these critical needs, but only with your support. Your gift will go to work right away, helping families around the world survive poverty and COVID-19.

Pandemic threatens to increase global economic inequality ([link removed] )

While billionaires are thriving, the pandemic has made most of the world poorer. The structural failures that have historically excluded Women, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color from quality healthcare, social protection and education have further broken down, creating irreversible damage.

How you can make an impact on future generations ([link removed] )

Legacy Circle members Stephen and Jane Land proclaim Oxfam is their "first and greatest love" and have generously listed us as a beneficiary of their retirement account to preserve their commitment to Oxfam that began in 1973. They were attracted to the ideals Oxfam holds of self-reliance, local control, focus on social justice, willingness to self-question, and speaking truth to power.

Oxfam calls on President-elect Biden to revoke terrorist designation in Yemen and end arms sales ([link removed] )

Yemen is currently the world's largest humanitarian crisis, and US arms sales have helped fuel the conflict. And this month, the outgoing Trump administration designated the Houthis a terrorist organization, which will make it even more difficult for humanitarian aid organizations to deliver assistance to large areas of the country under their control.

The first female vice president: celebrating a historic moment ([link removed] )

Kamala Harris has made history in so many ways: our first female VP; the first Black, Indian, or biracial person to be elected to this office. The daughter of immigrants, her win gives so many marginalized communities the opportunity to see someone like them in a position of power.
