Hi John,
As we turn the page and welcome the next presidential administration, we must remember that accountability will help bring unity. President Trump was notthe only one who encouraged right-wing militants to attack the Capitol onJanuary 6th. By his side were 139 House Republicans who voted to overturn thewill of the people. They voted to disenfranchise millions of voters in Arizonaand Pennsylvania, and undermine the results of a free and fair election. Theyfed into conspiracy theories, fomented lies and mistrust, and now bareresponsibility for the violence committed against our nation’s principles. They must be held accountable for attempting to subvert our democracy.
After taking back the House in 2018, and winning the White House and flippingthe Senate in 2020, we’ve seen how important raising early money can be.
That’s why we’re launching our new Defend DemocracyFund

Between gerrymandering, redistricting, and the ever-changing dynamics ofAmerican politics, it can be hard to figure out how to get involved. But if wewait until everything is set in stone before we start organizing and raisingmoney, it will be too late. That's why we’re starting now, and we’lldistribute the funds as soon as we have Democratic nominees in key, strategicdistricts.
We must hold the House majority in 2022, and we must make the GOP pay forattacking our democracy. Thankfully, we can do both those things at the sametime by defeating anyone who voted to undermine election results, running in acompetitive district.

As President Biden included in his inaugural address, democracy prevailed thisyear. But as the events of the past month show us, it is still fragile. Thisis a turning point, and we’re going to keep fighting.
Thank you for defending democracy alongside us.
