A Note from A’shanti:

In a few days Kamala Harris and Joe Biden will be inaugurated —and a new era will begin. Despite the best efforts of hateful extremists, truth has won.

As we prepare for the swearing in of our nation's first woman Vice President, I wanted to take a moment to encourage you to claim your own power and join Emerge to learn how to run for office. On January 19, we will hold a special inauguration edition of our Step Forward training, you can find more information and RSVP below.

In the next 15 years, we will work together to build a future where women of the New American Majority — Black, Brown and Indigenous women, women of color, LGBTQ+ women, young women and unmarried women — sit front and center in our country’s leadership.

Thank you for being a part of this movement.

Sincerely,

A'shanti F. Gholar
President of Emerge

This month we’ve seen too many elected officials turn their backs on their communities, which is why it’s more important than ever that we have representatives who will do what’s right. Join us for a one-hour, virtual workshop designed to show you how to lay the foundation for your campaign and get a head start on your path to political leadership. [link removed]

At the top of our feed — Here’s how Emerge and our alums are continuing to lead through these unparalleled times across the country:

We will do everything we can to support women who are ready to step up and fill a leadership void in their community: [link removed]

It’s never been more clear that some of the people currently in charge do not have our best interests in mind: [link removed]

And Congress isn’t the only place where we need more women to run: [link removed]

Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a day centered around service to our communities. Emerge is providing candidates in some of the toughest districts the tools and training needed to flip seats up and down the ballot. Give now to ensure we’re able to continue to elect strong Democratic women across the country. [link removed]

This email was sent to [email protected]. Emerge is a national organization working to recruit, train, and get Democratic women elected across the country, and we are so grateful to have you on our team. Our alums are strong voices for Democratic values — and they are working to bring their values up and down the ballot to fight for working families. They are fighting for critical issues that affect our communities like the environment, accessible and affordable healthcare, social justice and education equity. We need more alums fighting for us across the country.

Email is the best way for us to keep you informed about what’s happening with our work. You may notice that we send a lot of emails asking for your support—that’s because we win when everyone does what they can to help. Our organization depends on thousands of actual people who care about our democracy and want to see positive change in our communities and across our country by building power through investing in Democratic women.
