2021
Welcoming 2021 from home
Nottingham, alongside the rest of the nation, is currently under strict lockdown restrictions [ [link removed] ], requiring people to* stay at home* as much as possible.
By being cautious when making any journeys, carefully following safer travel guidance [ [link removed] ] and asking ourselves if our journey is necessary, we can help to stop the spread of Covid-19:
* You must not leave your house unless you have reasonable excuse i.e. work, education, shopping, care responsibilities, medical reasons, outdoors exercise or to visit your support bubble if you are a single person household
* If you must travel remain local and look to reduce journeys
* Walk or cycle where possible
* Avoid car sharing [ [link removed] ]with anyone outside your household or support bubble
* If using public transport, plan ahead and avoid travelling at peak times and on busy routes
* It is essential you wear a face covering for the entirety of your journey when using public transport, including when waiting at stops unless exempt
* Keep your distance from others as best you can
* Always wash your hands before/after travelling and use available sanitising points
* International travel is only permitted when you have legal reason

Looking ahead
Despite an unusual start to the year and the ongoing pandemic, there's a lot to look forward to in 2021, building on last year's transport achievements [ [link removed] ].
We have some big projects on the horizon, including work starting on a new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Trent, more cycle lanes, bus priority corridors and the expansion of parking at tram park and ride sites.
