Travel update in Nottingham 8 January - 15 January
Welcoming 2021 from home
Nottingham, alongside the rest of the nation, is currently under strict lockdown restrictions, requiring people to stay at home as much as possible.
By being cautious when making any journeys, carefully following safer travel guidance and asking ourselves if our journey is necessary, we can help to stop the spread of Covid-19:
- You must not leave your house unless you have reasonable excuse i.e. work, education, shopping, care responsibilities, medical reasons, outdoors exercise or to visit your support bubble if you are a single person household
- If you must travel remain local and look to reduce journeys
- Walk or cycle where possible
- Avoid car sharing with anyone outside your household or support bubble
- If using public transport, plan ahead and avoid travelling at peak times and on busy routes
- It is essential you wear a face covering for the entirety of your journey when using public transport, including when waiting at stops unless exempt
- Keep your distance from others as best you can
- Always wash your hands before/after travelling and use available sanitising points
- International travel is only permitted when you have legal reason

Looking ahead
Despite an unusual start to the year and the ongoing pandemic, there's a lot to look forward to in 2021, building on last year's transport achievements.
We have some big projects on the horizon, including work starting on a new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Trent, more cycle lanes, bus priority corridors and the expansion of parking at tram park and ride sites.
