Last week the US Congress passed the National Defense Authorization Act for 2021, and below certain hot-button issues was the inclusion of landmark anti-money laundering reform. The provision bans anonymous shell companies, pervasive in the United States, and represents not only the United States' biggest anti-corruption push in years, but also a massive boost for human rights efforts around the world.

The Sentry's advocacy work in concert with coalition partners was a driving force behind the passage of this reform, the Corporate Transparency Act. Our Co-Founder John Prendergast highlights the importance of the critical provision in a new op-ed [ [link removed] ] published yesterday.
