Help us fight for more kids like Deshala, Sebastian and Kamira There are just hours left to make an impact in the lives of DC’s children this year. 2020 has been challenging for everyone, but you can make 2021 better for kids like Deshala, Sebastian and Kamira – just three of the thousands of children you helped us reach this year. Will you give before midnight tonight to ensure that Children’s Law Center can remain a trusted partner, advocate and problem-solver for DC’s kids in the months ahead? The hard reality is that each story we shared this past month is just a glimpse into the lives that DC kids in poverty face every day. And, while we will keep fighting to find solutions for every family we meet, we know that real systemic change requires a much greater effort. It’s why we fought for and succeeded in: Increasing DC’s investments in mental and behavioral health services – especially during the pandemic. Creating an Ombudsperson for Children to help resolve day-to-day problems and systemic issues for DC’s foster children. Making sure older kids could stay in foster care throughout and following the public health emergency. Creating a new agency that would take a stronger approach to making rental housing safer and healthier for DC’s families. Ensuring students can continue their education if they are too sick to get to school through the Home and Hospital Instruction Act. Your support will help us provide legal assistance to thousands more children and families and advocate for greater systemic changes that lift DC’s kids out of poverty. We don’t know what our world will look like in six months, but we do know that far too many children and families will need Children’s Law Center fighting by their side. Please make a gift today. Together, we can make 2021 look brighter for DC’s children. With gratitude and hope for a healthier 2021, Judith Sandalow P.S. We’re so grateful for your partnership. Please make a gift by midnight and your donation of $500 or more will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to a combined total of $50,000.
