'Dumb Mistakes,' Not Design, Delay HAWC Tests

The Air Force and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency have postponed testing the Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC) missile because of errors, as opposed to design, sources said. Captive-carry test flight issues also led to a HAWC prototype being damaged over the summer. “This is not about a design issue,” said one source familiar with the program. “This is dumb mistakes.”
