Come January, we could have Kamala Harris, the first Black and Asian American woman vice president, as the tie-breaking vote in the Senate. Or we could have another two years of Mitch McConnell’s legislative graveyard -- and the decision comes down to two special elections in Georgia.

McConnell and the GOP have the cards stacked in their favor. Georgia has one of the longest histories of voter suppression in the country, especially when it comes to blocking the voices of Black Americans. More than that, Republicans have consistently won runoffs in the state since Democratic turnout typically falls off for special elections.

But we’re not falling into a self-fulfilling prophecy -- not when the progress we can achieve for voting rights, reproductive justice, affordable access to health care, and climate action are on the line.

Stacey Abrams knows we can win. She knows “if we can run up the score in absentee balloting, if we can get those ballots banked, if we can run up the score again, that’s how we increase the margin of victory.” Abrams helped us win the state for Biden, and now she’s ready to help us flip the Senate.
