Parents have had enough and are pulling their kids from government-run public schools.
Friend,
All around the country, schools remain closed, mostly at the behest of powerful teachers unions, which have made unreasonable demands on public school administrators.

These demands can never be met, which is the point! The teachers unions want schools to remain closed and the virtual format to continue indefinitely.

The effect on kids is grim. And parents should know how their children are being affected.

As the Washington Post reports, new data from Fairfax County, VA shows that grades are falling at a dangerously high and alarming rate among all students:
* Fs are up by 83% school-wide.
* For the most vulnerable children—those with disabilities and for those learning English—Fs have risen over 100%.
* Younger students and certain racial demographics are struggling the most with online learning.
* In this same Virginia school district, Fs among high-school students increased 50%, while the number of Fs among middle-school students increased 300%!
* The number of Hispanic children who received Fs has increased 92%.

The Virginia data confirms many things about online learning. It’s common sense that children who have parents at home that can help them with their virtual classes and ensure that they attend and stay in class will manage better.

Yet for kids who have parents that work outside of the home, or for kids with special needs who struggled in school before the school shutdowns, it will be hard to recover from the academic challenges this year has presented them.

What’s most alarming is that Fairfax County school district is considered one of the best in the entire country. If this is what’s happening in one of America’s best school systems, what’s happening in lower performing school districts?

Parents have a right to know how virtual learning is affecting their kids. And school administrators should be transparent about the reasons schools remain closed, especially when the scientific data clearly shows schools are not the problem when it comes to transmission of COVID-19.

Join us in calling for accountability and transparency in our school systems… and save our nation’s school-aged children before it’s too late.

Sign the petition and demand Parents’ Right to Know how their children are faring in school. ([link removed])
