You probably already know that sea otters are adorable, intelligent
and endlessly entertaining!

But did you know that they're also a keystone species that helps
balance marine ecosystems, and that they need our help?

Once hunted for their fur, sea otters are making a recovery thanks to
federal protections. But today they still face danger from ships,
trash, pollution and more.

In honor of Sea Otter Awareness Week, and as part of Defenders'
Year of Coexistence, we're focusing on how people can live side
by side with sea otters. Take a moment to watch this short video
