John, did you catch Jahana on BET?

Jahana was part of a town hall on student loan debt and its disproportionate impact on African American students. Here’s the link to watch: [[link removed]]

During the town hall, Jahana announced her next piece of legislation: The Pell Grant Restoration Act, which would restore Pell Grant eligibility for students who have been defrauded by a for-profit college.

Jahana was a Pell Grant recipient herself and understands just how important these grants are to students who are struggling to afford higher education.

Students who have used their Pell Grants to attend a for-profit institution should not be saddled with debt AND a degree that has no value as they now pursue an education at an accredited institution.

The impacts of this legislation would be real and immediate: In Connecticut, there are more than 1,000 students that could qualify for Pell Grant restoration.

Be sure to check out the town hall to learn more about this critical issue! [[link removed]]

Thanks for watching,
