HiJohn,The election everyone else is talking about is over, but as promised, we’re still moving and shaking — and now it’s time for our elections!Do you feel spurred to take action? Have you thought to yourself, “Wow, I would really like to continue to commit to SV DSA?” Do you love organizing the working class for the betterment of society? Then have we got a role for you!In SV DSA’s elections, members can nominate themselves to leadership roles for 6-month terms. This includes co-chairs for our working groups or admin committees, or officer positions. We’d love to have your help. You can be a new member, and there aren’t any experience requirements, so don’t be deterred! Because we believe in operating as a group, you’ll have fellow co-chairs to lean on for guidance. Nominations are still open until November 29th. (If you missed our November Chapter Meeting, please request a ballot to vote.)If you don’t feel up for elections just yet, there are plenty of other ways to get involved. Not sure where to start? Please schedule a one-on-one with an SV DSA organizer to talk through the causes you’re passionate about and get some input on how you can dig in!To build our chapter's future, we are having a chapter-wide discussion at our Dec 13th Chapter Meeting. Complete our membership surveyor write a position paper to help your comrades understand what our strengths and weaknesses are as a chapter, and what you’d like to see happen in 2021. The survey and position papers are due December 6th. Whether you’re watercolor painting for mutual aid, digging in at our weekly chapter work session, or joining our Friday Comradesgiving social call (ongoing now - no potluck preparation required), we’re happy to have you with us. Socialize with socialists! We hope you take the opportunity this Thanksgiving weekend to support organizations that work to uplift Indigenous rights.
