Dear John,
Giving Tuesday is when we act on our most deeply held values and beliefs, lending our support to groups that share them.
This year, Giving Tuesday has special meaning. The coronavirus pandemic has made us all more aware of the urgent needs that remain unmet, the justice that is denied, the equality that is unachieved.
I am so proud of what NOW has accomplished during this period--how we've stood together, strengthened our community, and worked tirelessly for change.
And of course, how we helped defeat Donald Trump and elect Joe Biden and the first woman Vice President, Kamala Harris!
But with Senate control in doubt, and a reduced majority in the House, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden will face tremendous obstacles and intractable opposition. Not to mention the impact of a new, ultra-conservative Supreme Court--with the promise of a challenge to Roe v. Wade in the offing.
