IJ client Stacy Jones just got an early holiday gift: her money back <[link removed]>. In July, TSA and DEA officials at the Wilmington International Airport teamed up and used civil forfeiture to seize Stacy’s bag and the cash she was carrying on her way home to Tampa, Florida. The government never accused Stacy of doing anything wrong, yet it took an IJ lawsuit to get her money returned. Even though Stacy got her money back, IJ’s class action lawsuit will continue until both agencies end this systematic and unconstitutional abuse of travelers’ property and privacy rights.
In this year full of hardship, IJ is making things right for Stacy and for innocent, hardworking Americans like her. The 41 victories we’ve secured since January gave everyday people their freedoms back—and secured vital rights for countless others like them.
Will you help IJ keep fighting the TSA, DEA, and many other government officials who abuse their power with an online gift <[link removed]> today?
Tomorrow, IJ will give thanks for our freedoms and for the generous people who enable us to defend them. I hope you’ll become one of them by supporting our efforts.
Many thanks for your consideration, and warm wishes to you and yours.
