46 million turkeys are killed every Thanksgiving. But you can save one.

In anticipation of Thanksgiving every year, an estimated 46 million turkeys are slaughtered in the United States. 99% of them are raised on factory farms: windowless factories with up to 10,000 birds under one roof.

We'll spare you the rest of the painful details surrounding their short lives on in these industrial facilities--but the grim reality is a far cry from the values this holiday purports to promote.

It doesn't have to be this way. And at Farm Sanctuary, it isn't.

At our New York and California Sanctuaries, our rescued turkeys are given the chance to feel sunlight and fresh air for the first time in their lives. Here, these same birds can live up to 10 years.

Help us continue our lifesaving work.

Adopt a turkey today.

Sandy "The Sweetheart"

Sandy survived a fire; after being brought to us with a painful foot infection, she's now healed completely and loves to lounge in people's laps.

"The Flock"

Or, for a one-time donation of $150, you can adopt our whole flock: an invaluable contribution that enables us to provide costly veterinary care for the special needs that our animals present.

In gratitude for your sponsorship, you'll receive your choice of a printed or digital certificate with your chosen turkey's photo and story. (We recommend printing your own digital certificate as our mailed certificates will not reach you in time for the holiday.) These make beautiful Thanksgiving table centerpieces, especially adorned with pumpkins, candles, or leaves. You'll also receive a one-year Sanctuary magazine subscription.

Adoptions can also be a great gift! Share this adoption with a special animal lover in your life, and we will send the honorary adoption certificate and one-year Sanctuary magazine subscription to them.

While Thanksgiving may look different for many of us this year, for turkeys it is always a day that brings immense suffering.

If you are looking for a new, compassionate way to celebrate, consider adopting a turkey. Your gift will help us raise awareness and advocate for these amazing birds--something we can all be thankful for.

In gratitude,

Farm Sanctuary
