In anticipation of Thanksgiving every year, an estimated 46 million turkeys are slaughtered in the United States. 99% of them are raised on factory farms, often in windowless rooms with up to 10,000 birds under one roof.

We’ll spare you the rest of the painful details surrounding their short lives in these industrial facilities—but the grim reality is a far cry from the values this holiday purports to promote.
