Dear friend,
As many of you have heard, at midnight on Sunday, the United Auto Workers Union members at GM went on strike [[link removed]] to fight for better pay, fair benefits, and job security.

Unions have always been the backbone of our society. They have fought for a fair work week, child labor laws, protections against discrimination, and dignity for workers, and even now they continue to fight for these things.

I am a proud supporter of unions. As the spouse of a retired public school teacher, I’ve seen first-hand the critical and positive impact that unions have had on our society.

Unions built the middle class in our country, and they protect the working class. I stand with UAW workers on strike and, always, with the fight for working people’s rights.

In solidarity,
