When I was younger, I used to read the newspaper every day and feel helpless
about crises happening in Canada or around the world. It’s why I started writing
letters through Amnesty International’s Urgent Action Network and making
periodic donations to Amnesty’s work. As I became more involved with Amnesty
campaigns, I began to understand how important consistent donations were; I
became a monthly donor with Amnesty a few years ago. It feels like a small thing
that I can do to make a big impact.
Even in the face of today’s crises, being an Amnesty monthly donor means instead
of feeling helpless, I feel empowered. I feel like I’m making a tangible
contribution towards maintaining human rights around the world.
John, will you join me? Choose action and choose humanity by becoming a monthly donor with Amnesty
[[link removed]]There’s so much work Amnesty International does that I’m passionate about, from
defending prisoners of conscience to supporting refugees, to taking action on
climate change and demanding corporate accountability; being a monthly donor
connects me to all of Amnesty’s work, everywhere. I know my donation will be
used wherever it’s most urgently needed.
Monthly donations provide a solid foundation for Amnesty to build campaigns and
activism programs and send researchers out into the field. Support from monthly
donors gives Amnesty the ability to be proactive in building the future we want
— and I think that’s incredibly powerful.
John, for all of the work that still needs to be done
and for the human rights needs that exist around the world, please join me as a
monthly donor today — it truly is an impactful way to contribute and help out.
