One hundred years after women gained the right to vote, the Senate today confirmed the nomination of the fifth female justice of the Supreme Court. Amy Coney Barrett is a symbol of everything women have achieved and an incredible role model for women and girls.

** A True Childcare Crisis ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
This coronavirus pandemic has added stress to many different aspects of American life. The childcare industry has been particularly hard-hit. While some parents keep their children out of daycare because of fears for their health, these parents cannot properly return to work and help to return our economy and country to a more normal state ([link removed]) . Even before the pandemic, America’s healthcare landscape needed to be changed. High costs due to overregulation have made quality childcare out of reach for many parents and children.

** Judge Barrett Will Not Dismantle Healthcare ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
The confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett made clear there is zero chance the Supreme Court will strike down the entire Affordable Care Act and eliminate coverage for those with pre-existing conditions. First, while Judge Barrett was careful to observe ethical canons restricting what a judicial candidate can say, her comments regarding the ACA revealed a fair and careful judicial mind. Second, Judge Barrett repeatedly explained that, because Congress amended the ACA in 2017 to zero out the mandate’s penalty ([link removed]) , the case currently pending before the Supreme Court, California v. Texas, involves very different legal questions than the prior case challenging the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate (NFIB v. Sebelius). The Democratic claim that a Justice Barrett would dismantle healthcare is nothing more than a politics-as-usual scare-tactic.

** Is There No Evidence That a $15 Minimum Wage Would Kill Small Businesses? ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
During the final presidential debate, the candidates sparred over raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour. Former Vice President Joe Biden ardently advocated for a full $15 federal minimum wage. He said, “There is no evidence that when you raise the minimum wage, business has gone out of business.”

Raising the federal minimum wage to $12 an hour would cost 1.3 million jobs according to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO). There’s no sugar-coating it. A $15 minimum wage at the federal level would be devastating for businesses and workers.

** Not Your Mother’s Feminism ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
While all women don’t share her politics, all women can appreciate that Amy Coney Barrett has created a life for herself that in many ways embodies the progress women have made. It’s not a life every woman wants, but the model of success in two spheres, professional work and family life, appeals to the vast majority of women. Women don’t have to support Barrett’s politics or her nomination to recognize what she represents: A turning point for feminism, a chance to move forward. A chance to break the link between feminism and the radical left.

** Chelsea Handler Lures 50 Cent Back From Supporting Trump ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

Rapper 50 Cent endorsed Trump twice last week but backtracked after a scolding and an offer from his ex-girlfriend, Chelsea Handler, that he couldn’t refuse. While he’s a grown who can make decisions for himself, Handler’s intervention reminds us that some of the most intolerant people of independent thought are those on the left. As blacks and other minorities come to the realization that far-left policies, from taxation to regulation, undermine their success and stifle opportunity, more of them will move away from leftist politics.
