"National Parties Are Dumping Tens of Millions Into State Races"
"Local state legislative races could end up literally determining who the House Speaker is in Washington after 2022."
--Time Magazine.

32 votes.

That's how many votes the Republican candidate in a Florida state House race won by in 2018. In another race, it was just 54 votes. In a 2017 Virginia House of Delegates race, the winner of a majority-determining tie was literally drawn out of a bowl.

So if you're wondering whether there is still time to make a difference in down-ballot races, the answer is YES -- you can chip in right now to help the NDRC win tight races like these in battleground states.

Down-ballot races are always important, but they're even more so this year. Whichever party takes control of state legislatures in 2020 will have the upper hand in the redistricting process in 2021. These races can be won and lost on razor-thin margins, which means every dollar spent can go a long way.

We've already invested millions of dollars to flip state legislatures in nine states and have endorsed over 250 down-ballot candidates. But I have to be honest with you -- there's only a week left before voting ends, and Democrats are trailing the Republican dark money machine in critical states.

"Republicans have for years had the upper hand when it comes to state legislative races. It's how they dominated most of the 2010s. [...] Democrats are playing catch-up."

Every moment until polls close can make a huge difference in these races -- but once November 4 rolls around, it will be too late.

We have the momentum to win control of state legislatures in states like Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and even Texas. But control of these chambers could come down to a single race, and that race could be decided by a tiny margin.

Think about how infuriating it would be to lose control of a critical state legislature by drawing a name out of a bowl.

Now is not the time to sit on the sidelines. If we lose on November 3, you'll look back and wish you had done more -- don't let that happen, friend. Will you rush a contribution right now to help us win as many races as possible next Tuesday?
