talk about the most important District Attorney race happening in this
election.

In Los Angeles County, George Gascón is running to replace the current
District Attorney, Jackie Lacey and he needs our help. If we defeat Lacey,
we can finally put an end to the cycle of mass incarceration and police
brutality that has plagued Los Angeles for decades.

Let me break down why this race is so important to our
cause, John:

* It is the county with the most urgent need for reform.  LA County’s
prison system is the largest in the nation. Under current DA Jackie
Lacey, Los Angeles County alone is responsible for one third of all
incarcerated people in California. 
* It’s the county with the most potential to impact justice reform
across the nation. George is determined to support and enact the
critical reforms to completely transform LA County’s corrupt legal
system into one that benefits and uplifts the communities of LA. 
* This race is a referendum on the strength of our movement for reform.
More and more folks are pointing to this race as a test for our
movement. We have a chance to send a clear mandate on Election Day
that we the people are hungry and ready to elect leaders who are
serious about transforming our broken justice system.

The District Attorney is the most important elected position to create and
transform local justice systems from the inside out.

reformed justice system to millions of people and set a precedent for
other communities across the nation.
