During a hearing on runaway drug prices, Katie Porter took out her mighty
whiteboard of truth and shamed drug company CEO Mark Alles for handing
himself a $500,000 bonus for jacking up the price of a single drug more
than 300%.(1)

The clip went viral on the internet and created new urgency to crack down
on drug prices.

Everyone knows how awesome Katie Porter is, but what you might not know is
that she represents one of the most competitive districts in America. In
fact, Katie was the first Democrat in history to be elected in her Orange
County district.(2)

We were on the front lines fighting to elect Katie in a red district in
2018, and we’re still here fighting for her and every California Democrat
targeted for defeat by the Republicans so that we have the progressive
leadership we need to make real change across the state and the country.

In her short time in Congress, Katie has almost single-handedly forced the
Trump administration to commit to providing every American with free
COVID-19 testing.(3) She also courageously called out California Democrat
Senator Dianne Feinstein for praising the sham hearings being held for
Trump's SCOTUS nominee.(4)

But even more important than her famously tough questioning in committee
hearings, Kate has proven that we can win in swing districts without
sacrificing progressive values.

This year, in addition to standing with Katie, we’re defending California
Democrats who were elected along with her two years ago ago. We are also
taking on Republicans like Devin Nunes to help grow the Democratic
majority while using our Courage California Voter Guide and Google ads to
alert voters about local candidates and ballot initiatives to support and
oppose.

The election is now less than two weeks away. It’s a key pivot point for
America. We can defeat Trump and elect progressives up and down the
ballot. Or we could fall short, and America might never be the same.
