Did you know that Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or SIDS, is one of the leading causes of death in babies from 1 month to 1 year of age? October is SIDS Awareness Month, and to help you keep your baby safe, we reached out to pediatrician and SIDS researcher Rachel Moon, MD, for advice on safe sleeping ([link removed]) .

There's no guaranteed way to prevent SIDS, but you can help your baby sleep more safely by doing simple things like keeping their crib as bare as possible, not letting them overheat and having your baby sleep in your room.
