"I wish there were only 20 attacks monthly in Baghdad. In Baghdad, since 2003 until now we have between 40 and 120 attacks every month. And across the country we have an average of 20 attacks daily... To get an idea of how many that is, multiply... 20 attacks x 365 days of the year x 13 years already..."
Father Montes, the priest at Baghdad’s Cathedral, went on to emphasize that these constant attacks are not limited to Iraq—this is also happening in Syria, in Nigeria, and in other places where they have "the same kind of stories."
I met Father Luis Montes in Madrid. He came to the #WeAreN2015 International Congress, "We All Are Nazarenes." He came to give a voice to those who are suffering and don't have a voice.
Speaking for the voiceless... those who keep suffering and dying every day. Sadly, the West remains largely silent.
That's why I'm sending you this email. I know that neither you nor I will accept this tragedy in silence, without doing something.

Together, we can stop the genocide against Christians and other religious minorities and advance religious freedom worldwide!
Christians are persecuted because of their faith in many places around the world. Today, at this moment, persecution is still particularly brutal in Nigeria, Syria, and Iraq.
We must send aid to them URGENTLY (again!) and expose the problem internationally and so that politicians, governments, and international organisms remain aware.
We need your help so that the unheard voices of persecuted Christians will reverberate worldwide...
We need your help to send humanitarian aid to our persecuted brothers and sisters.

John,
can you make a donation of 15 <[link removed]>€ <[link removed]>, 35 <[link removed]>€ <[link removed]>, or 50 <[link removed]>€ <[link removed]> <[link removed]>(or whatever amount you can) that will allow us send humanitarian aid to the region and to stop this genocide? <[link removed]>  <[link removed]>

Dear John,

I wrote and sent you these words last year...
"It's been a year. And nothing has changed..."

Now, I'm afraid, it's been another year...

As I wrote to you then, I'm writing to you now... there has been pain after pain (AGAIN), death after death (AGAIN), and horror after horror (AGAIN!).

It's terrible. It seems that nothing has changed!

As I wrote to you before, you, John, and I have two options: we can forget about this because we "can't" do anything, and because "nothing" has changed, or we can (and we must) keep on working until the situation changes!

They need our help URGENTLY.
John, can you make a donation now of 15€, 35€, or 50€ (or whatever amount you think is appropriate) so that we can send humanitarian help to our persecuted brothers and sisters, and promote effective actions to save them?

We have a plan to help.

...until the situation changes:

We are going to launch a huge international campaign, in which we will propose the following:

- To urgently send (more) humanitarian aid to those who suffer persecution in Syria, Iraq, and Nigeria. The aid will be distributed through effective Christian organizations that work in the Middle East. We will share our voice with the persecuted to try to help them to overcome the terrible situation in which they live. Winter is coming, and they need our help now more than ever.
- To make the international community aware of the dramatic persecution that Iraqi, Syrian, and Nigerian Christians are suffering, and to effectively promote concrete calls to action.
- To organize (again) an International Congress with Christians that have fled from Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Pakistan, and other Islamic-majority countries, to send an international alert about the persecution that Christians face around the world in the 21st century. (This will be the third such #WeAreN Congress, to be held in Madrid in 2017.)

Already, we have worked to implement many of these proposals. Already, CitizenGO has helped provide tens of thousands of people with the aid they need to survive—all made possible because of your generosity! We have seen many successes and saved lives. But we need to do more... again!

If we are all Nazarenes ( ن ) (this is what the radical Islamists call the Christians) then we cannot sit on our hands and turn our backs on the situation when our brothers and sisters are persecuted, tortured until martyrdom, and murdered because of their faith!

Today, while you read this email, hundreds of thousands of Christians (and people from other minority religious groups) are being persecuted and displaced because of their faith, if they're not tortured and killed outright.

So, again (and AGAIN until the situation changes) I ask you, with hope:

Can you make a donation right now of 15€, 35€, or 50€ so that we can send urgent humanitarian help to our persecuted brothers and sisters in Syria, Nigeria, and Iraq, and so that we can continue our activity to help them?

Perhaps you haven't lately seen, with the same frequency as the past few years:

- brutal images of torture, lynching, beheadings, crucifixions, and mass shootings…
- men beheaded, and the heads of women and children put in pickets...
- women who are raped (sometimes repeatedly) and finally murdered by a multitude of men...
- people buried alive or being traded as sex slaves! It could be you or me, or our family, our sons and daughters, or our grandchildren...

We must love our neighbor as ourselves!

Perhaps we haven't seen those horrors lately as frequently as we have the past few years, but all of these horrors—the suffering, torture, slavery, death, and refugee camps—are still there...

So, as I said a year ago, I will say it again today, with hope...
Can you make a donation right now of 15€, 35€, or 50€ so that we can send humanitarian help to our persecuted brothers and sisters in Nigeria, Syria, and Iraq, and so that we can continue our activity on their behalf?

I know that you will make the best donation you can. It doesn't matter the amount that you give, whether it's one of the amounts I've suggested (or larger!) or a much smaller amount. Every bit helps!

Someday, I believe that we will end this horror. We will not stop until we achieve success! And on that day, you will be able to say that part of that victory was possible because of you, because of your generous effort—that you helped to save their lives!

Thank you very much, once again, for being there…
All the best,
Caroline Craddock and the CitizenGO team

P.S. The support we're asking from you is deeply urgent. Please, if it's possible, make your donation now before you close this e-mail. Remember, any amount—every cent!—is very useful. A big donation helps a lot and a small donation helps too.
