$100,000 October Matching Gift Challenge

[link removed]

Dear John,

Alzheimer's is a thief that takes from
so many - not just the more than 5 million Americans living with
the disease, but their 16 million caregivers too.

Cheryl Gross knows what this disease
demands from caregivers.

Cheryl took care of her mother,
Nadine, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, for about a decade before
she passed away in 2011. Cheryl, a fierce believer in the difference
the Alzheimer's Association can make in the lives of caregivers, has
pledged to match every donation made to our $100,000 October Matching
Gift Challenge before October 31, up to a total of $100,000 -
but only if we can raise the same amount. Today, I'm asking you to
make a gift to help provide care and support and advance research to
serve people in your community and across the nation.

Cheryl has dedicated her gift to
support the Association's efforts to advance the technology that
powers our global research efforts and support programs. Your gift can
make a difference to caregivers and all affected by this disease by:

* Providing caregivers with resources for financial, legal and
future care planning, which helps both caregivers and people
living with the disease feel more secure.
* Ensuring that no matter what time or day a caregiver calls our
24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), our staff, including
master's-level clinicians who understand the challenges caused
by the disease, are available to help.
* Hosting premier global forums for Alzheimer's and dementia
scientists to connect across disciplines, address common
challenges and share new discoveries.

Reflecting on her experiences, Cheryl
says, "You just have to get involved and do what you can to stop
this devastation."
