The Minnesota DNR is in the process of updating the 2001 Wolf Management Plan which contains many positive aspects. The 2001 Plan called for a 5 year moratorium on the recreational hunting/trapping of wolves but this was overturned by the state legislature. The Plan allows for wolves to naturally expand their range in the state and does not have a maximum (or upper limit quota) for wolves in the state. It has set a minimum number of wolves as 1600 and although it was never intended to be a management objective, some organizations are calling for it to be. Minnesota DNR is seeking input until 10/31/20. You do not need to be a Minnesota resident to Complete the Survey Please take 10 minutes to complete the survey.
