Hi Folks!

After several meetings in the last couple of weeks to determine the goals
of the Berkshire DSA on local, organizational, and national levels, we
decided that one of the projects we'll put our efforts into will be a
“Bread and Roses” themed food drive. (If you're not familiar with Bread and
Roses, this <[link removed]> is a good
description of the slogan's origins). Our goal is to run a traditional food
drive but also hand out paper roses, a pamphlet about the Berkshires DSA,
and a list of mutual aid resources people can look to for assistance. Many
people in this area are in tremendously precarious situations right now and
we want to let the community know that the Berkshire DSA is there for them.

We need volunteers to help gather and distribute foods, publicize the
event, and prepare the educational materials and roses that we'll be
handing out. We hope to hold the food drive in one - two months. If you're
interested in participating, please come to our zoom meeting on Tuesday,
October 13th at 7PM. This is a great way of directly helping our community
