Dear Friends,

As summer comes to an end, the action is heating up! We are pleased to announce the launch of Operation Divina Guadalupe - Sea Shepherd’s longest-running research campaign, studying one of the world’s most elusive marine species - the Cuvier’s beaked whale.

Behind the scenes, many additional important activities are underway that would not be possible without your generous support over these past months. Our other ships continue to undergo maintenance in preparation for upcoming activities, and we look forward to having even more exciting updates to share with you soon.

Operation Divina Guadalupe 2020

Sea Shepherd’s Operation Divina Guadalupe has the largest number of worldwide sightings of Cuvier’s beaked whales ever recorded and is one of the only long-term studies of beaked whales in existence. Beaked whales are vulnerable to mass standings due to human-made acoustic disturbances. The more we learn about these animals, the better we can enhance protections in oceans around the world. The more we know about marine wildlife, the more we can do to protect them. We're passionate about studying these animals in the wild to observe their natural behaviour. That's why we will always be against captivity and we ask our supporters not to buy a ticket to dolphinariums and aquariums. Instead, please support our mission to protect wild marine life and their habitats, and if you want to learn more about the injustices of captive orcas, pick up Captain Paul Watson's book 'Orcapedia' today. The book delves into the world of imprisoned orcas and how they are caged by an industry that is strictly for profit, not conservation. Pick up yours today on our eStore HERE <[link removed]>.

From all of us at Sea Shepherd, thank you for standing by our side on the front line of ocean conservation.

For the Ocean,

Captain Paul Watson
