attempting to return the Office of the Sheriff to the abusive and
ineffective practices of the past administration that harmed the
community and cost taxpayers over $140 million and counting. Will

The article detailed our opponent’s grand plans to “reopen the
Tent City jail” an infamous relic of the Arpaio-Sheridan
administration that Sheriff Penzone closed and
introduced a drug rehabilitation program to reduce
recidivism in its place.
But that’s not all that concerns us: since Sheridan is not
as well known as his old boss Joe Arpaio, voters may be
casting their ballots for him without knowing the extent of his
record as a deputy — he was found in contempt of court, knowingly
made misstatements under oath, disobeyed court orders, and
manipulated internal investigations to avoid accountability for himself and others.
That’s why it’s our mission to expose Jerry Sheridan’s
record and make sure Maricopa County voters know the full extent
