John, we cannot let Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump steal a seat on the Supreme Court for the NRA.

It has been less than a day since the country lost Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a true champion of justice and equality, and Mitch McConnell is already trying to steal her seat on the Supreme Court of the United States.

McConnell is working off of Donald Trump’s short list for SCOTUS nominees, which includes the NRA’s go-to-lawyer. If any of these picks are appointed, then every gun safety law in America will be under threat of being rolled back. We are already at risk after the NRA spent over a million dollars to get gun rights extremist Brett Kavanaugh a seat on the Supreme Court just two years ago.

The next 45 days have never been more important, John. Voters have already started heading to the polls, and we urgently need to hear from 56 more gun safety activists like you in your area. We can’t keep this poll open past 11:59 p.m., so please, tell us immediately:

Should Mitch McConnell Select Ruth Bader Ginsberg's Replacement?

surveys.signforgood.com/brady-scotus-2020

While we should celebrate Justice Ginsburg's life as a trailblazer and brilliant jurist, her loss is overshadowed by the reality that her seat, and the fate of sensible gun laws in America, are at threat. We believe we must honor her by remaining committed to the values and ideals that she cherished. With you by our side, we know we can fight for safer and more democratic America.

Thank you for taking action with us. May her memory be a revolution, and may she rest in power.

ICYMI: We Launched Our New End Family Fire Campaign on Preventing Gun Suicide

[[link removed]]

September is Suicide Prevention Month. To end gun violence, we must address gun suicide, which accounts for 61% of all gun deaths in America. Most suicide attempts are undertaken impulsively during moments of crisis. But when someone attempts suicide with a gun, they rarely get a second chance to live a full life.

That’s why our End Family Fire [[link removed]] program launched a powerful multimedia campaign on safe gun storage as a means to prevent gun suicide. We know that by storing all guns in our homes securely, we can help ensure a temporary crisis doesn’t turn into a permanent tragedy and give our loved ones a second chance at life.

Did you miss our official launch? Watch our new video, "No Extra Life." [[link removed]]

Trigger Warning: The video is very powerful and can be hard to watch, as it portrays a life-or-death scenario that too many Americans have faced.

Moderated by Brady President Kris Brown, we're convening experts from communities impacted by youth suicide, including representatives from Team ENOUGH, The Trevor Project, The TRIGGER Project, The American Association of Suicidology, and the United Indian Health Services. “Suicide by gun comprises the largest portion of gun deaths in America: over 23,000 Americans died by firearm suicide last year,” said Brady President Kris Brown. “To address gun violence necessitates addressing suicide by gun. By raising awareness of the risks posed by guns in the home and how gun owners can mitigate that risk by safely securing their firearms—which means locking their guns, unloaded, with ammunition stored separately—we can save lives.” — Brady President Kris Brown [[link removed]]
