Dear friends,

I, like so many, am shocked and saddened by the news of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's passing. RBG was a giant of the Supreme Court whose legacy will go down in the annals of American history.

We can respond in two ways. We can retreat into sadness or we can do what RBG would do.

Ruth overcame unbelievable odds. She was one of only nine women in a law school class of more than 500. She EXCELLED...all while taking care of a 3-year old, and a husband stricken with cancer.

RBG led the fight in courts for gender equality. When she began, women were treated differently from men, by law. Federal and state laws restricted what women could do. They were barred from jobs and even from jury service. By the time of her appointment, she had sparked a revolution.

RBG never slowed down, even after five bouts with cancer. She had grit. She kept going.

And we will too.

I appreciate all of you. We're going to be ok. We just have to keep going.

-Kara
