John,

Yesterday Dan Forest, Roy's far-right opponent, made headlines again, though probably not for the reason he wanted to. Just have a look:

AP News: Dan Forest: "Reopen schools without mask mandate"

Raleigh News & Observer: "NC Lt. Gov. Dan Forest says no masks mandate if he's governor"

It's clear Dan Forest is outright denying proven science and playing politics with public health and safety - repeating the false claim that "masks don't work" (but that doesn't stop him from selling branded masks on his campaign website).

North Carolina needs a leader who will listen to the science and follow the experts, not one who dangerously spreads misinformation for cheap political gain.

Roy is that leader, but far-right groups are spending MILLIONS of dollars in dark-money to try and defeat us, and it's having an effect. New polls show our lead cut in half.

We can fight back against their attacks and ensure North Carolina is led by someone who trusts the experts, but we need your help. Will you rush $10 to ensure we have responsible leadership in the Governor's office?

Thank you for your support,

We hope everyone is staying safe during this ongoing health emergency. The Cooper Campaign is now working remotely, and we encourage all those who are able to practice social distancing. We've taken the step of cancelling all in-person fundraising for the time being, making grassroots online outreach and fundraising even more critical than before. Roy and the rest of the team will keep working for a more prosperous, better-educated, and healthy North Carolina, and we hope you will stay with us in this fight. Further information on the Coronavirus and our response can be found here.
