Is the President protecting seniors? [link removed]     GIVE NOW to Protect Americans'
Health and Retirement Security! [link removed]   DearJohn,  President Trump was quoted as saying, "We'll always protect our senior citizens and everybody against preexisting conditions." But we now know that's simply not true.

The President has done everything to undermine protections for pre-existing conditions, especially for older Americans. He tried to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which prevented health insurers from declining coverage for pre-existing conditions — which older patients tend to suffer from more than younger adults. The ACA also limited insurers' ability to charge older patients higher premiums than younger ones. A president committed to protecting people with pre-existing conditions would not still be trying to destroy the ACA. Yet, the White House has attempted to sabotage the program through administrative measures, and is still arguing (during a pandemic, no less) that the health care law should be struck down in the federal courts. The Administration also began allowing junk insurance plans with high deductibles that do not protect patients with pre-existing conditions.
  That&#39;s why the National Committee is counting on you to help us ramp up our battle against the President&#39;s payroll tax cut executive order and his reckless efforts targeting Social Security by chipping in a gift of <strong><a alt="Click Here to Donate" href="[link removed]" id="action_donate" name="donate_now_dc" style="text-decoration: underline; color: #004D96; text-align: left;" title="Click Here to Donate" ><strong style="font-weight: bold;">$10 or $5</strong></a></strong>.
Instead of attacking the ACA — and trying to dismantle Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid — here is what the President should do if he were a true champion of older Americans: [link removed]
  Endorse legislation [link removed] to expand and strengthen Social Security;
Embrace the "Lower Drug Costs Now Act," [link removed] which would allow Medicare to negotiate prescription prices directly with Big Pharma;
Stop promoting private Medicare Advantage [link removed] plans over traditional Medicare;
Significantly increase funding for the Social Security Administration [link removed] to provide seniors with better customer service;
Cease the campaign to eliminate Social Security and Medicare payroll taxes [link removed] ;
Stop proposing $1.5 trillion in budget cuts [link removed] to Medicare and Medicaid;
Don't propose to slash programs [link removed] that help feed lower income seniors and keep their homes heated in the winter; and
Condemn calls from some lawmakers to sacrifice seniors' lives [link removed] during the coronavirus pandemic for the sake of the economy.
These actions would go a long way toward "taking care of our senior citizens," and with your help the National Committee is putting massive constituent pressure on President Trump to take them.

John, as you know, our work is 100% supported by retirees and working Americans like you, all across the country — so please give what you can today [link removed] to help us defeat any effort by the Trump Administration or Congress to slash or weaken Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid — and bolster our urgent fight to strengthen Americans' retirement and health security!
        Sincerely, Max Richtman
