*AG Nessel Announces Landmark Settlement with Meta [ [link removed] ]
*Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced a $171 million settlement with Meta. The deal relates to child safety on Instagram and Facebook. It adds new limits and safety tools for young users. It includes time limits, night blocks and stronger age checks. The deal also addresses Meta’s past sharing of user data with third parties.
*AG Nessel Releases Flint Water Crisis Report [ [link removed] ]
*Attorney General Dana Nessel released a Flint Water Crisis report. The report details the evidence, charges and legal steps in the criminal case. Nine officials faced 42 charges. Michigan Supreme Court released a ruling. The cases were then dismissed.
*Michigan Officials Encourage Students to Utilize OK2SAY [ [link removed] ]
*Attorney General Nessel joined other state officials to talk about Michigan’s OK2SAY program. It helps keep students safe. Threats and concerns can be reported in private. More than 78,000 tips have been reported since 2014. In 2025 alone, 10,777 tips were received. Students are urged to speak up. Schools are asked to keep emergency contact information up to date.

*Residents have downloaded more than 24,000 free Power of Attorney forms from the Michigan Attorney General’s website since last year. The forms help Michigan residents choose trusted people. These are people who can make healthcare or money choices for a person who cannot. The forms are part of the AG’s work to protect older adults.

*AG Nessel Warns of Bank, Credit Union Imposter Scams [ [link removed] ]
*Imposter scams occur when criminals impersonate government or banking officials. They may call you and attempt to steal your personal information. This alert tells you what to look out for and how to respond.
*AG Nessel Reissues Consumer Alert on Data Breaches [ [link removed] ]
*You are more at risk for identity theft if your information has been part of a data breach. The FTC logged more than 28,500 identity theft reports from Michigan in 2025. There is a new victim every 2 seconds. You need to act fast to safeguard your identity. This alert explains what you can do to protect yourself.
