Hello John,
I am shocked this hasn’t received more attention before now — if Congress fails to act soon, the Social Security trust fund will be insolvent within six years.
This issue has been on the horizon for years now. I am glad it is getting more news coverage ([link removed]) because further inaction will be devastating for working Hoosiers.
Since the Social Security Act became law, every American worker has contributed to the system through a payroll tax with the understanding that Social Security would be there for us when we retire, just as it has been for generations.
Years of unfair, Republican-led policies have put the largest tax burden onto low- and average-income workers. Now, Republicans are trying to privatize Social Security to further benefit corporations and the ultra-wealthy.
We need to safeguard Social Security! I support raising the cap on taxable earnings to $400,000 to keep the system solvent and ensure the rich pay their fair share.

** Update on Fight Against Data Centers
------------------------------------------------------------
Residents of Marion County can breathe easier — at least temporarily — after a data center moratorium was passed in August.
Team Wirth has been active in the fight against data centers in Indiana ([link removed]) , and while this is a step in the right direction, we can’t let up.
Only five of the 11 counties within Indiana’s 6^th District have passed some type of data center ordinance, according to the Environmental Resilience Institute at Indiana University ([link removed]) . Where does your county stand?
* Regulatory Ordinance: Hancock
* Temporary Moratorium: Fayette, Marion, Rush, Shelby
* No Regulation: Bartholomew, Henry, Johnson, Union, Wayne
We need lawmakers like Dr. Cinde Wirth, who will stand up to big corporations and work toward federal regulations on data centers.
