Attorney General William Barr just replaced the nonpartisan head of the Office of Law and Policy -- a Justice Department office that ensures federal counterterrorism and counterintelligence activities are legal -- with an inexperienced political appointee.

Senator Elizabeth Warren warned us of this kind of party-over-country tactic when she demanded Barr's resignation.

Barr has continued to prop up the worst of Trump's conspiracy theories -- casting doubts on vote-by-mail and even blaming President Obama for Trump's failed pandemic response.

The attorney general is supposed to uphold the law, not try to guarantee the president's re-election by any means necessary. But it's clear Barr would rather be another Trump lackey than protect the constitution -- which is why we're joining Senator Warren in her call for Barr to resign.
