Attorney General William Barr just replaced the nonpartisan head of the Office of Law and Policy -- a Justice Department office that ensures federal counterterrorism and counterintelligence activities are legal -- with an inexperienced political appointee.
 
Senator Elizabeth Warren warned us of this kind of party-over-country tactic when she demanded Barr’s resignation.
 
A tweet from @ewarren reads: William Barr has abused his power to protect the most corrupt president in modern history. Today was no different. We need an Attorney General who's loyal to the constitution, not the president. Barr must resign.

Barr has continued to prop up the worst of Trump’s conspiracy theories -- casting doubts on vote-by-mail and even blaming President Obama for Trump’s failed pandemic response. 
 
The attorney general is supposed to uphold the law, not try to guarantee the president’s re-election by any means necessary. But it’s clear Barr would rather be another Trump lackey than protect the constitution -- which is why we’re joining Senator Warren in her call for Barr to resign.
